[ARCHIVED] Municipal Swimming Pool Opens May 28

CANAL WINCHESTER, OH - The City of Canal Winchester invites you to cool off this summer at the Canal Winchester Municipal Swimming Pool.  The pool season begins May 28th at 4:00 p.m. and will run through September 5th.

Due to COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, pool capacity will be limited for the 2021 season.   Two swim sessions will be available each day Monday through Saturday. Only one session will be held on Sundays to allow for party rentals.

Session 1: 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Sunday through Saturday)

Session 2: 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Monday through Saturday only)

All those wishing to visit the pool will be required to have a pre-paid reservation, including those with free admission (children under 2 and persons 60 and over).  Reservations and payments must be made online in advance; absolutely no walk-up reservations will be permitted.

Membership and daily admission options will both be available this year.  Please note: The purchase of a membership does not guarantee entry to the pool.  Members will still be required to make a reservation to enter to ensure capacity limits are maintained.

The pool will be available to rent for parties on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during the season.  Dates may be booked on a first come, first served basis.  Check the city’s website for complete details, including rental fees and available times.

Guests visiting the pool are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to use during their visit as lounge chairs will not be available for use this year.  The concession stand will be open and offering a limited menu of prepackaged food and drink.  Guests are permitted to bring their own food and drink, although absolutely no glass containers or alcohol are permitted.

Guests that are sick or feeling ill should stay home.  Except while in the pool, current mask mandates will be enforced.  This includes moving around on the pool deck, using the restrooms, visiting the concession stand, and entering/exiting the facility.   Visitors are asked to follow all signage when using the pool facilities and maintain appropriate social distance from other guests whenever possible, avoiding swimming or gathering in large groups.

Pool memberships and rental sales are available to purchase on the city’s website beginning today.   For more information, please visit www.canalwinchesterohio.gov.
