[ARCHIVED] Summer Mowing Tips: Don't Blow Grass Clippings Into the Street - Instead, Mow High and Let it Lie

Mow High and Let it Lie Mowing Tips

NOTE: The City’s Division of Streets reminds residents that blowing grass clippings into the street is not only a violation of city code, but can also cause flooding by clogging gutter pans and storm drains. Instead, discharge grass clippings onto the lawn.

Mowing Tips

Help your lawn survive the summer heat with these great tips:

MOW HIGH - Mow your grass to 3 to 4 inches.  Mowing high helps preserve moisture and out-compete weeds.

LET IT LIE - Leaving grass clippings on the lawn recycles nutrients, feeding your lawn.

This summer, remember: it’s best to Mow High and Let It Lie.
