Another week has gone by and a little glimmer of hope is shining in the tunnel we’ve been in. The Governor announced Friday his new Stay Safe Ohio Order. What this does is lift some of the mandatory requirements and restrictions that were needed during the initial phase of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
While the governor can set the baseline, it should be understood that these orders set forth the minimum acts that must be taken and if people do more than the minimum to act safely, it will benefit everyone. This is not an invitation or suggestion that things are back to normal yet. Once again, I want to say Canal Winchester residents have been doing a great job of being safe. Let’s keep up the great work and attitude, get this out of our system, so we can enjoy the summer months ahead!
Here in the City we continue to work split week shifts and all buildings are cleaned and sanitized daily. Sanitizing measures are also being practiced daily on all City truck interiors to help avoid carry-over of any type of germ or virus that might be looming.
Things are looking up, at least for the foreseeable future, but there will still be cancellations in our future as well. All City sponsored events previously scheduled for the month of May have been canceled. All city rental space remains unavailable throughout the month of May, at minimum. We will be taking a closer look at rental space availability throughout the coming weeks.
We can beat this and we will. “We’re all in this together” and “We will get out of this together.”
Stay Safe and Stay Healthy!
