HISTORIC GHOST TOUR (October 11 & 12)
The Canal Winchester Area Historical Society will “bring history to life” in downtown Canal Winchester on October 11th and 12th as they present the thirteenth annual Historic Ghost Tour, exploring historic locations throughout downtown Canal Winchester.
Event-goers will be guided through a short walking tour as they are entertained by actors depicting people from Canal Winchester’s past. Tours will last approximately 90 minutes and will begin at 7:00 p.m. each night, with the last tour departing at 7:30 p.m. All tours will depart from the Frances Steube Community Center, 22 S. Trine St. Tickets will be available at the Community Center each evening of the tour beginning at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are offered at $10 per adult and $5 per student aged 6-18; children 5 and under will be free. Please leave pets at home.

GALA & FOUNDER'S DAY (October 18 & 19)
Bringing History Forward...A chance to fall in love with a part of Canal Winchester rich in history and full of possibilities - The Canal Winchester Historical Society is sponsoring a two-day event at the iconic Historical Complex, located at 10 Oak St., home to the Queen of the Line train depot, the Prentiss Schoolhouse and the O.P. Chaney Grain Elevator.
The events kick-off on Friday evening, October 18th with a (21 and over) Gala 7-10pm. Including music, food, libation and other party-time pleasures – not to be underscored by the opportunity to enjoy a place rich in history and full of vision for the future.
On Saturday, October 19th the Historical Society will host a family-friendly Founder’s Day event, 10am-2pm. You can fall in love with Canal Winchester as it was in times gone by… meet the weaver, the baker, the candle maker and others. No entry charge for this event. There will be goods available for purchase and games available for play.
Steve Donahue, President of the Canal Winchester Historical Society, expresses the Society’s desire to share the special nature of the beautiful site nestled along the railroad tracks. Steve goes on to say, “We have the opportunity to let others explore the history of Canal Winchester in the late 1800’s while creating new memories for them today. The Complex is a gem for our town – we are willing and eager to share it with others.”
