CANAL WINCHESTER, OH – The City of Canal Winchester and Franklin County Public Health, through their Community Health Action Team (CHAT) initiative, announce a free Community Seminar focusing on Substance/Alcohol Abuse & Mental Health issues on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the Frances Steube Community Center, located at 22 S. Trine St. in Canal Winchester.  The free seminar will be open to all ages and will run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

“Canal Winchester is the greatest little city in Ohio, but that doesn’t make us immune from the effects of the opioid crisis.  Substance abuse, alcohol abuse, and mental health issues affect all communities. That’s why it’s important that we do our part to help educate the public,” said Mayor Mike Ebert.

The seminar, made available through Recovery Village of Columbus, will cover the 5 “W’S” (who, what, when, where, why) of how to access treatment services for a loved one suffering with substance/alcohol or mental health issues and will also include a personal testimony about the Journey of Recovery.

For additional information, visit www.canalwinchesterohio.gov or call 614-834-9915.

The Community Health Action Team (CHAT) initiative is a partnership between Franklin County Public Health and community members to work together to build healthier communities in Franklin County.
