The City of Canal Winchester and Diley Ridge Medical Center, in cooperation with the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), will host a National Prescription Drug Take-Back event on April 28, 2018 at the Diley Ridge Medical Center parking lot, 7911 Diley Rd., from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.
National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day provides an opportunity for local residents who want to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs properly. “Our take-back event is a drive thru setting where you simply drop any unwanted prescription drugs then continue on your way,” said Mayor Michael Ebert.
Since joining the DEA program in 2011, more than 200,000 prescription pills have been collected at the Diley Ridge drop off location. “We encourage everyone in the area to take advantage of this chance to safely dispose of their expired and unwanted medications,” said Mayor Ebert. “We’d like to thank our partners and volunteers for helping make these events possible, and to thank Diley Ridge Medical Center for allowing us to use their property.”
Please note that collectors cannot accept liquids (including inhalers and their refills) or needles or sharps, only pills. The service is free and anonymous; no questions asked.
