The city of Canal Winchester is pleased to announce that organizers of the 57th annual bicycling tour known as TOSRV (Tour of the Scioto River Valley) have chosen Canal Winchester as the launch and return site for the 2018 riding tour. The two-day, 200-mile ride will begin and end at Canal Winchester’s historic “Queen of the Line” train depot, situated in downtown Canal Winchester (May 19 & 20). A post-ride celebration will take place nearby at the world-renowned Scottish brewery known as the BrewDog DogTap, (located at 96 Gender Rd.) where riders will enjoy special offerings to commemorate their accomplishments.
Since its inception in 1962, the tour has developed a loyal rider base and has recently seen an upswing in participation. According to TOSRV Director Lisa Daris of Columbus Outdoor Pursuits, the non-profit organization that manages the event, over 1,000 riders are expected to participate in the nation’s longest-running tour next year.
