[ARCHIVED] City Plans Tire Sweep at Walnut Creek October 7

Volunteers needed to help with cleanup

CANAL WINCHESTER – The City of Canal Winchester Storm Water Department will hold its tenth annual tire sweep and creek cleanup along Walnut Creek from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday October 7th. City staff will work with volunteers to remove tires in the Walnut Creek Basin from the Dog Park in Walnut Woods Metro Park to the confluence of the creek with the Tussing Ditch, near Canal Winchester.

Volunteers should meet at Walnut Woods Metro Park office, located at 6723 Lithopolis Road, at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday October 7th.  Pancakes and refreshments will be provided for all volunteers, compliments of Park Manager Mindi McConnell.   Canoes and kayaks are welcome, or volunteers may wade through the creek.  Tires will be collected rain or shine.
