The City of Canal Winchester’s water department is committed to providing safe drinking water for our residents. The city continually works to perform projects such as hydrant flushing, consumer drinking water testing, water line replacement, and treatment optimizations to ensure we’re maintaining and improving water quality.
This year the city performed Ohio EPA required lead sampling on drinking water at twenty (20) unique sites throughout the community. Results have been reviewed and all twenty sites tested indicated concentrations below the U.S. EPA action level of 15ug/l (micrograms per liter); with eighteen of the samples testing below detectable limits.
As a homeowner you can do your part. When replacing faucets make sure to purchase only fixtures that are certified lead free; this will be indicated by the certified lead-free seal.
