Information Technology
The City of Canal Winchester Information Technology manages the City's use of existing and emerging technologies in government operations, and its delivery of services to the public. Information Technology works to improve City government's efficiency through technology and to make communications with the City uncomplicated and clear.
Contract and Budget Administration
Effectively manages City's contracts with third party organizations and supports City divisions' information technology funding needs by providing capital budget planning and procurement assistance.
Application Services
The Applications team maintains and supports applications which consists of Microsoft Applications, Web Services, SCADA and other Legacy applications.
Data Center Services
Manages a network operation data center that houses the City's mission critical applications, communications, and e-Government initiatives.
Data Communication Services
Provide connectivity to city facilities using fiber and copper network. We proactively monitor critical infrastructure systems and components.
Desktop Support
Troubleshoots computer, printer and communications problems. Sets up, assembled, installs, configures, modifies, moves and/or relocates hardware/ software per end users requests.
Information Systems Security
Firewalls, Intrusion Detection for Network Security, VPN for remote access, protection against Viruses and Spam, Encryption for web file systems.
Internet and Intranet Services
The Web Services team provides Web Design, implementation and content management for the City's Internet and Intranet websites.
Project Management
The Project Management team effectively manages all of IT related projects. Works with the City's divisions to support their business processes and assist to improve these processes through technology solutions.
Strategic Business Services
Supports the City divisions' shortand long-term information technology needs through effective business strategic planning, information technology budget planning, business process re-engineering and technology recommendations that address business and organizational challenges.
Telephone Services
The Telephone Services team supports telephone handsets across all City divisions, leverages the data network for Voice over IP (VoIP) services. As well, manage critical applications for telecommunications systems support.
