  3. Kris Sims Memorial Relay for Life Dinner

    May 19, 2021, 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Frances Steube Community Center

    Get acquainted with Canal Winchester’s elected officials as they wait tables to earn tips for Relay for Life. Mayor Mike Ebert and City Council members will serve dinner at the Community Center. The three-course meal will include a house salad and bread, spaghetti and meatballs, iced tea, lemonade, coffee and a dessert. The cost is $10 per adult and $5 per child (10 and under). Tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the event while supplies last. Carry-out will also be available. The dinner is named in honor of the late Kristen Sims, who worked to bring Relay for Life to Canal Winchester. All tips and proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life virtual event on Saturday, June 26. Cash, check, or credit cards will be accepted at the fundraiser and parties will be seated on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are expected to follow all current public health guidelines, including wearing a facial covering when not seated at the dining table.

    Music in the Park is a free summer concert series held the third Fridays of May, June, and July. Bring the kids out to TOUCH-A-TRUCK at Music in the Park! There will be trucks and cars from police & fire. Touch-A-Truck will feature vehicles from Fairfield County Sheriff's Office, Madison Township Police Department, and Madison Township Fire Department, with live music by The Usual Suspects & Repeat Offenders and emcee Mike Walker.

  6. Memorial Day Ceremony

    In remembrance of fallen veterans, VFW Post #10523 will host Canal Winchester’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 31st at Union Grove Cemetery (400 Winchester Cemetery Rd.) beginning at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will feature a keynote speaker. Other ceremony participants will include the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Canal Winchester High School Band. This year, the VFW will also present a bench dedicated to the global war on terrorism. The public is invited to attend the ceremony. Public health guidelines, including wearing facial coverings and social distancing, will be enforced.
